Creative ways to say "I Love You" this Valentine's Day

With Valentine's Day fast approaching, you may find yourself scrambling to find a sweet little something for someone you love. A non-traditional gift may be a welcome surprise to set your special someone's heart aflutter. Here are some ideas we've come up with!

1. Daycation

You don't have to travel far and wide to spend time with the one you love. Plan a day date! Head on out to your favorite restaurant for a quiet lunch, go on a hike, play a board game, watch a movie...clear your schedule and enjoy 1:1 time with the person you love most! Devote an entire day to each other - completely ignore the mountain of things you need to get done at home or work and just enjoy each other's company for the day.

 2. Give Back!

Is there an organization or activity that your special someone is super into? Make a donation in your loved one's name. A kind gesture like this not only does good but it also says "I love you" and sometimes more importantly "I'm paying attention." Most of us have everything we need. Giving back to a cause your partner cares about is a really special way to show you care.

3. Try Something New!

Have you both been interested in learning a new activity or hobby? Sign up for a class! Want to try a new sport? Head on over to your local outdoor store or look up offerings through your parks and rec department. For a cooking class or art lesson, check out evening or weekend classes at a community college. Spending time together learning something new can be a really special experience. And we think...Experiences > Things!

4. Bring the Spa Home!

Let's face it, we're all just too darn busy and the idea of taking time out for self-care can be hard to fathom. Sure, a spa day sounds fabulous but the time and cost can be preventative for many of us. Don't despair! Bringing the spa experience to your home can be a convenient and affordable way to treat your loved one. And, many of the items purchased can be enjoyed many times over. We suggest the following for the ultimate at-home spa day:

This care package will have your loved one blissed out in no time and clearly shows a lot of thought and preparation has gone into creating a special experience for her.

Anyone who is fortunate enough to participate in an equestrian sport understands the importance of gear and the challenges of being comfortable both during and after a ride.

As compression socks are becoming more and more mainstream, many equestrian athletes depend on them regularly to energize and support their legs while riding and to minimize their soreness post ride so that they can get back to training more quickly and pain-free.
